Laitetaan tämä sähköposti tännekin näytille, eli yksi osoitus siitä kuinka Vt-seuralla on ollut erilaisia käytäntöjä asevelvollisuuden suhteen:

Yes, it is right that before the change in 1996 there was a loophole in German law that was intended for JW. Laywers refer to it as “Lex Jehova” (try google). It was because German government wanted to avoid that JW went to prison after the Third Reich again, because they rejected both military service and civil service. It was the §15a ZDG.

The law said: “"Recognized conscientious objectors who are unable for reasons of conscience to do civil service, are not be drafted for civil service temporarily when they declare that they have a working relationship with the usual working hours in a hospital or other facility for the treatment, care and support of persons, or if they are engaged in such employment (...)"

The employment must be taken on before the age of 24 and finished before the age of 27. It must take at least a year longer than the Civil Service.

There were some JW who did this. But many of not most had a problem: they would not find an employer for this. The §15a-people were more expensive than someone doing civil service. So, it happened often that they went to court as total rejectors and presented their application refusals that they seriously tried to get a §15a-job. They sometimes got away with it or had to pay a fine.
Some JW were also not very fond of quitting their (worldly) career for a %15a-job and did not really look for a new job.

Meksikon käytäntö lienee omaperäisin. WTBTS:n pääkonttorin näkemyksen mukaan virkamiesten lahjominen oli tosi kristityn tunnusmerkki kun hän suoritti asevelvollisuutensa rahalla.

"Aneita" siis kaupataan edelleen ja sitä WTBTSn toimesta pidetään jopa suotavana. Aika vekkuli juttu sinänsä. Rahalla saa ja heposella pääsee.

Asevelvollisuus on kuvaava esimerkki siitä miten WTBTS on joutunut nurkkaan sen luulotellessa jehovantodistajille etteivät nämä ole osa sitä yhteiskuntaa, jossa elävät ja jonka palveluja käyttävät.

Päivänselvää sovittelua. Mielenkiintoista että lainlaatija antoi ensin siimaa, mutta siihen ei ollut käytännössä halua tarttua.

Jos jehova ei saa yhtä Saksaa toimimaan näin mitättömässä asiassa hyväkseen, minun on vaikea uskoa että hänellä Harmagedonin hetkellä (jonka hän siis on jo määrännyt, mutta ei kertonut kenellekään) on mitään kättä pitempää lupauksensa toteuttamiseksi. Ehkä Harmagedon muutetaan keskustelupaneeliksi?
