Jehovantodistajat keskustelevat

Pääsin sitten lurkkimaan jehovantodistajien keskustelufoorumille. Ja miksipä en, olenhan jossain määrin jehovantodistaja, kulttuuriltani JT jo kolmannessa polvessa. Laitan teillekin joitain jehovantodistajien keskusteluja, ettei jehovantodistajien ajatusmaailma pääse unohtumaan. Keskusteluja on lyhennytty rankalla kädellä ja viittaukset joista ilmenee keskustelupaikka on poistettu. Samoin keskustelijoiden nimmarit on poistettu ja vaihdettu numeroihin. Tämä on siis vain osa totuudesta, ei koko totuus näistä keskusteluista.

What is your opinion, are you not ashamed to put in your profile that you are a Jehovah's Witnesses?


2) No. If people have a problem with me and my loyalty towards Jehovah, then that is their problem. I have decided that I should never be ashamed to admit that I am a Witness. I have enough troubles at school - I don't want to bring those same issues home with me.

However, on the same note, I have decided that discretion is advised around certain worldly people if they know that I am a Witness.



3) I'm certainly not ashamed- however, it also never occurred to me to list myself as one of Jehovah's Witnesses, mainly because the internet can be a dangerous place to announce that.



4) I dont want to impose my opinion on anyone because this is clearly a conscience matter.



5) Chris is right, but in any case, whatever anyone decides to do, discretion is still in order whether they list it on their profile or not. We can get some very disparaging comments from time to time if we are not careful, and apostates are somewhat rampant on the internet.

7) I'm not ashamed, just leery of the creepy people out there on the internet. The last thing I would want is to have to carefully edit out nasty comments from my ----. I have this ---- account more for learning and improving my ----- than as a way to witness, since we are always cautioned about the apostates on the internet.



8) I keep my profile private as best as I can so that it isn't easily searchable unless you know what you're looking for. One bad thing about listing yourself on your profile as a JW is that if someone who is not a pro member is looking at your profile and you have that listed, some ad servers (Google Adwords especially) starts listing apostate websites in the ads.



Seuraavassa keskustellaan jehovantodistajista kertovasta dokkarista “knocking”. Dokkari sai jehovantodistajilta paljon kehuja. Vaikuttaa siltä, että dokkari oli loistava bisnesidea Noin miljoona yhdysvaltalaista jehovantodistajaa haluaa paitsi omistaa DVD:n myös lahjoittaa pari kappaletta sukulaisilleen ja tuttavilleen. Keskustelussa kävi ilmi mulle uusi tieto, jonka mukaan dokkarin tekijän äiti on JT.



1) On Tuesday, May 22, 2007, the Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) in the USA will nationally broadcast a documentary about Jehovah's Witnesses, myths vs realities, our believes, our ministry, and the positive impact Jehovah's Witnesses have had on the lives of average non-JW American citizens... a legal precedent which is being repeated by Jehovah's Organization in other parts of the world.

The documentary is entitled "Knocking", part of PBS's Independent Lens series. Some of you I know have seen this documentary on your own, but to see it being broadcast nationwide on one of the most prominent, uncommercial venue of television that is PBS is a huge source of excitement, as one of your sisters in the faith. PBS is one of the few places I go for the little time I spend watching television. Many other discriminating television viewers also choose to watch mainly PBS.

I sincerely hope this will open the minds of many more "rightly disposed" people in the field here. And, of course, I am so happy, and excited to share this news with our brothers and sisters here on

That includes disfellowshipped and disassociated persons, with whom we wish to have no dealings, and whose statements clearly express their opposition to Jehovah. 2) The primary film-maker was brought up in the truth, but he never became one of Jehovah's Witnesses. His mother is still faithful to Jehovah. :-)


3) Just a note of warning...When I went to the site and clicked on the part where you can comment or read comments (specifically for "Knocking") I started to notice that there were quite a few posts that were from people who were either disfellowshipped or no longer associate with us. Some were very negative. After I read a few posts I mentally slapped myself for even having read that much. So I just wanted to let you all know to be cautious about reading the comments there.
I did see Knocking a few months ago with some friends that bought the DVD. It really is good and I definitely recommend viewing it.

It was money well spent! Honestly, this program is superb and clearly had the support of the GB. The filmmakers were granted access to the Society's archive and it shows! You will really benefit from watching this program (and the excellent extras on the full DVD). I cannot say enough good things about it!

On kiehtovaa ja paljonpuhuvaa, että todistajien täytyy turvautua noin vahvoihin kielikuviin mustamaalatessaan eriävää mielipidettä edustavat ihmiset.

Niin ja lukeminen. Parasta on kun ummistaa silmänsä eikä lue yhtään mitään. Pahimmat kulttuurijehovat eivät varmastikaan tiedä omasta uskonnostaan sen enempää kuin vastaavat muiden uskontojen jäsenet.

Parhaat tavat luopioitumiseen mielestäni yhä ovat 1. Raamatun ahkera lukeminen ja 2. Jehovan todistajien kirjallisuuden lukeminen. Sitten tulevat kokouksissa ja kentällä käymiset.

Watchtowerin kielikuvat about 40-70-luvulla ovat ihan kirjallisuudessakin olleet paljon rankempia kuin nykyään. Minun kanssani tutkittiin "Kadotetusta paratiisista ennallistettuun paratiisiin" -kirjaa ennen kouluikää, ja siinä oli tosi eläviä kuvauksia ruumiiden päältä sulavasta lihasta.

Muistan kyllä myös vanhimman lainaaman tekstin vielä vanhemmasta WT-tekstistä, kyse oli pornografiasta (HYI!): "Sairaiden mielten aivo-oksennusta".

Kammoistutus toimii. Luopioiden maailmanlaajuinen organisaatio on ulottanut lonkeronsa kaikkialle Internetiin. Tuhannet mieleltään turmeltuneet zombiet kylvävät myrkkyä kokopäivätoimisesti, ainoana elämäntehtävänään jehovantodistajien eksyttäminen.

Olisikohan pahakin pettymys saada tietää, miten vähän Vartiotorni - tai sen vastustaminen - kuitenkin loppujen lopuksi merkitsee. Toki se on osa omaa menneisyyttä, ja asiaa haluaa työstää ja siihen mielellään käyttää aikaa. Mutta on tässä muutakin tekemistä.

Niinpä, aika harva loppujenlopuksi uhraa edes kovinkaan paljoa elämästään ex-jt toiminnalle. Jehovan todistajat ajattelevat olevansa jokin maailman keskipiste, jonka toimiin kaikki maailman ihmiset haluavat vaikuttaa.

Todellisuudessa Jehovan todistajuus on pieni lahko muiden joukossa, eikä kiinnosta suurinta osaa millään tavalla.
