Käännyttävä jehovantodistaja, varomattomasta käännytettävästä puhumattakaan, ei huomaa tuon valtakunnan olevan pari vuosituhatta myöhässä luvatusta. Samoin huomiotta jää se seikka, ettei Jeesus kuvaillut valtakuntaa lainkaan sillä tarkkuudella, jolla Vt-seura sitä nykyään kuvailee.
Jos valtakuntakin on pari vuosituhatta jäljessä luvatusta, niin hyvä uutisen saarnaaminenkin hoidettiin Raamatun mukaan loppuun ajanlaskumme ensimmäisellä vuosisadalla:
Vuosien varrella Vt-seura on toistuvasti ollut eri mieltä kuin Raamattu, pari esimerkkiä:”...edellyttäen tietysti, että pysytte uskossa, perustukselle laskettuina ja vakaina, horjahtamatta pois sen hyvän uutisen toivosta, jonka olette kuulleet ja jota on saarnattu kaikessa luomakunnassa, joka taivaan alla on. Tämän hyvän uutisen palvelijaksi minä, Paavali, olen tullut.” (Kol. 1:23 UMK)
Samalla Vt-seura opetti vastoin sitä mitä se opetti pian perustamisensa jälkeen 1800-luvulla:"...It is true that the gospel of the kingdom of God and of his Christ was not preached until after 1918 A.D." (w28 Dec. 1 p. 364)
“In 1935 the WTS stated this: "God's remnant on earth, that is to say, Jehovah's witnesses, received from the hand of God's angel the message of the kingdom gospel, which they must preach." (w35 Nov. 1 p. 331)
Eikä tämä vielä riitä, Vt-seura on lisännyt Raamatussa olevaan Jeesuksen opetukseen jotain omasta mielestään tärkeää (korostus lisätty):“Yes, the time is probably not many years distant, when repressive measures may be brought to bear against every effort of the saints to spread the good news of the coming kingdom, all on the plea that the general interests and the public welfare demand such a course.” (The Time is at Hand page 263)
“But we are not to permit extravagance or wastefulness in these directions to interfere with the use of our means more directly in what is to us the chief work of life--the proclamation of the Gospel, the good tidings of the Kingdom.” (The New Creation p. 577)
Hyvin totutusti noilla väitteen tueksi annetuilla Ilmestyskirjan jakeilla ei ole mitään tekemistä asian kanssa, jos hiemankaan epäilet lue jakeet ilman paalunmuotoisia vaalenpunaisia Vt-laseja. Kirjoitus jatkaa vielä väitteellä, että koska vuonna 1914 perustetusta valtakunnasta ei saarnata hyvää uutista ennen vuotta 1914, niin kyseessä täytyy olla Jeesuksen tarkoittama hyvä uutinen (korostus lisätty):”EVER since the end of the Gentile Times in 1914 something of very present importance has been added to the “good news of God” that Jesus Christ used to preach in the Middle East, preaching to as many cities as possible, just as he said on one occasion: “Also to other cities I must declare the good news of the kingdom of God, because for this I was sent forth.” (Luke 4:43; 8:1; 16:16) After his death and resurrection and his glorification in heaven, his apostles and faithful disciples preached the good news of the coming kingdom of God. (Acts 20:24, 25; 28:30, 31) What vital thing has now been added to the good news of the kingdom of God that Jesus Christ and his zealous apostles used to preach nineteen hundred years ago? This, namely, the birth of God’s Messianic kingdom in the heavens at the end of the Gentile Times in 1914. And after the ensuing war in the invisible heavens and the ouster of Satan the Devil and his demons from heaven and down to earth, this announcement was sounded forth, to be added to the good news, as stated in Revelation 12:9-12:” (w67 Dec. 15 page 753)
Muutamaa sivua aiemmin lukijaa pohjustetaan näillä sanoilla (kursivointi alkuperäinen):“What a joy-inspiring addition or enlargement to the good news now to be preached! Now has come the victorious kingdom of our God together with the authority of his Christ, his Messiah! As for Satan the Devil and his demons, they have only a short period of time until they are bound and imprisoned in the abyss after the “war of the great day of God the Almighty” at Armageddon. All this additional wonderful information has been true since the end of the “appointed times of the nations” in 1914, and particularly since World War I closed in the year 1918. Not before the “appointed times of the nations” ended in the fall of 1914 could the good news be preached of the newborn, established heavenly kingdom of God and of his Messiah. This, then, must be the good news that Jesus Christ in his prophecy said had to be preached first in all the nations. (Mark 13:10) This generation of human society that has seen and experienced the world events since the Gentile Times closed in 1914—this is the “generation” that will not pass away until all the things foretold have happened, including the preaching of the good news first in all nations.” (w67 Dec. 15 page 753)

Jeesuksen seuraajilleen opettama hyvä uutinen ei siis ollut se sama, jolla jehovantodistajat nyt käännyttävät. Eikä tämä vielä riitä, jehovantodistajien mielestä heidän levittämänsä hyvä uutinen on tärkeämpi kuin Jeesuksen ja apostolien levittämä sanoma.”Meidän sukupolvemme on tosiaan monin tavoin ainutlaatuinen. Yksi asia herättää kuitenkin huomiota meidän aikamme kaikkein tärkeimpänä tapahtumana, ja sen rinnalla kaikki muu kalpenee merkityksettömänä.” (Vartiotorni 1. tammikuuta 1988 sivu 21)
Herää kysymys miksi apostolit odottivat näkyvää paluuta heidän omana elinaikanaan, vaikka Jeesus oli maininnut heille palaavansa vuonna 1914:
Toki jehovantodistajien opetus herättää muitakin kysymyksiä, kuten väitetyn hallintoelimen tehtävät läpi vuosisatojen? Sillä kun ei ollut minkäänlaisia kiireitä hyvän uutisen suhteen ja siitä huolimatta se ei puuttunut sellaisten Jehovan edustajien, kuten Waldo, Wycliffe ja Luther, kolminaisuusopetukseen. Jehovan sanansaattaja Russelin puuhastelu onkin sitten ihan oma laaja lukunsa Vt-seuran hyvän uutisen evoluutiossa."This cannot be very far off, for Jesus said that the generation that saw 1914 'will by no means pass away until all these things occur.'-Matt. 24:34, NW." (w56 Oct. 15 p. 616)
"As Jesus said, the end would occur in the same generation that saw the beginning of the 'last days' in 1914.-Matt. 24:34" (w68 May 1 p. 265)
